Thanks for an 'interesting' thank-you
As part of her weekly 'Friday Tip-o-Day', my blog-daughter Weese paid an interesting tribute to her blogfather (moi).
I'm sure her intention in using me as the object of her lesson in sharing digital photographs from analog sources was to thank me for asking her to guest blog on treppenwitz. But in so doing, she shared a rather, uh, dated photo from our high school yearbook (we both graduated from Trumbull High School in 1979).
I have to say... not many people could have gotten away with this. But considering Weese has a heart-o-gold and we have a long history of mutual respect and admiration... I've decided to find her use of what is probably the least flattering yearbook picture ever taken, um, endearing. :-)
So go ahead... gaze upon the 18-year-old treppenwitz (if you dare).

I couldn't resist. (tho, it was my mischievous wife who came up with the idea)
An really, taking into account the prevalence of bad hair, and wide ties in the '70s - I think its a rather handsome picture.

Lisa... Hmmm, I hate to say it, but being called 'handsome' by a lesbian lacks some of the 'umph' one normally associates with complements from the opposite sex. :-)

Is a compliment any less sincere or heartfelt because it's being made by someone who doesn't view you as a potential sexual partner?
(Sadly looking to see if the Treppenwitz I first met and enjoyed reading for so long is now appearing on my local milk carton...)

(Pardon, that should have read, "potential sexual partner, [present martial status not withstanding.]")

Nice photo :)
(i don't view anyone as a potential sexual partner because I'm married)

Pretty good picture, I have to say. I always like black-and-white photos. From a purelye *aesthetic* point of view, ahem! : )

Just to be clear I am a lesbian trapped in a man's body and have never harbored any sexual fantasies about David. ;)

I never would've guessed you for a chasid (that *is* a streimel on your head, isn't it?) :)

Amazing, how I looked at that pic in the original post and didn't make the visual connection. Hair will do that...
But more bizarre is the fact that we lived in Trumbull, too - just a few years later (1988-90), when our kids were too young for high school...or even middle school, for that matter. Mundus minisculus, eh?

You would have fit in very well on "Welcome Back, Kotter"....not a bad picture as far as 1970's yearbook pics go....
