A Haiku! I don't even try to write them. It's personally impossible. I bow to your haiku-ness.

unnatural. like crossing a river
without stinging the frog

Odder still to see
the Western Wall pink with sun
at quarter after ten.

Happy New Year to you and your family!
If you are ever in the DC area, we have some great poetry reading connections. Our cousin is out promoting his book and his publisher hook him up with the Burlesque Poetry Hour - http://burlesquepoetryhour.blogspot.com
Yea, don't ask (though hubby enjoy it ... said it was different, but definitely fun ... what can I say, he's a poet and artist at heart.)

As you start your day
In the holiest of lands
I remain exiled.
As we gather by the Ball
You folks gather by the Wall.
We go to watch our object fall;
You see your object standing tall.
I know - I shoulda quit with the haiku. ;')
Happy '08!

Happy New Year of the Goyim. Here's a present from me, courtesy "Gates of Vienna" blog and the Dutch consumer product safety commission, or whatever they are called. It's how the Dutch gov't instructs their people in fireworks safety.
There are three parts to defeating a sworn enemy. Part 3 (so I aver) is laughter. Enjoy! ;o/

Happy New Year from the Emerald City!
And I like the haiku. Perhaps make it a feature now and then? :)

haiku waft down from
like minds as sparks of campfire
rise from the hot flame

poetic license aside, we're only 7 parts in 24 of the world away (that's about 29%).
half a world away is the China syndrome but that's a different movie
